Why do people need children ? It’s a question I oftenly analize. Among the responses are these one: parents need someone to love …and to be loved by.
Let’s take two persons, a man and a woman: they known each other, love each other, marry …each other, and then they have a child, two, three …or more. After the baby comes, what happens ? Here comes the trouble and every kind of inconveniences caused to parents. As long as the child is a baby, parents have trouble with his health. Then, another upset is caused by the cancellation of freedoms caused to parents. This is one of the issues that lead to cooling relationship of the couple: a child is the responsibility of both parents, but the father has often the tendecy to follow one’s nose, and chooses to be free ! But I also know women like with the same behaviour, wich have left children in the care of anyone who received them.
Then there is the problem of money: a child “eats” money, since he is “in diapers” and until he finishes school. Oh yes, school and adolescence ! During this period of adolescence, Lord protect us: besides the fact that they “eat” money, they make their parents life a nightmare, both because of awkward adolescence and especially because much debated eccentricities which brings major disasters to some families.
Once the child passes the phase of adolescence, he is already mature, a period when he can find a girl to love, marry her, and then have children themselves. Now, those who were parents, become grandparents.
These cases described above are the happier ones, because I did’t write anything about health. I presumed that everyone is healthy. What happens when the parents give birth to a sickly child, or who becomes ill during life ? I have heard many cases of accidents when children were left without a hand or one leg?
There’s an aspect of the relation between children and their family. Most are loved by parents, and in turn, they love their parents. What happens when parents get older and pass away ?
What come to my mind now, is a quote from the book of Ecclesiastes of the Bible, Chapter 4, verses 1, 2 and 3, where it says this:

And on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

There’s so much truth contained in these words !
