How Can We Be Happy ?
Happiness is a state of mind or feeling such as contentment, satisfaction, pleasure or joy.
Happiness is something everyone wants to achieve. While on the surface, people may seem to be looking for money, recognition, or other things, what they actually seek is happiness.
Unfortunately, many people never reach the level of happiness they desire.
There are many people who we think should be happy but are not. There are many people who we think should be miserable but are not either. Some people who seem to have nothing are very happy. Some people who seem to have everything are not.
Happiness can mean different things to different people. For example, for one person it may mean being in a relationship whereas for someone else it may mean feeling you have the ability to handle whatever life throws at you.
Epicurus was a Greek philosopher who was born over 2300 years ago. One of his major concerns was discovering how to achieve happiness.
His ideas about happiness are well known : when a person has unsatisfied desires, this is painful. When those desires are satisfied, they move into the state of static pleasure.
He contended that nothing in life has any value except that which can bring us pleasure. If we focus on maximizing our potential for happiness, then ultimately we’ll reap the rewards of this focus.
Here are some tips that should lead to happiness:
Look at those below you and not those above you.
Talk with your friends about the happy moments of your life.
Avoid means of sadness and seek means of happiness.
Enjoy every moment o happiness.
Do not expect thanks.
Complete immediate tasks.
Prioritize work.
Every new ideea you have, consider it as a great invention.
Mix with happy people.
